TECNALIA Renovates EMC Testing Facilities in Derio712370

TECNALIA has completed the renovation of its semi-anechoic chamber in the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) laboratory in Derio, supporting the development and validation of electronic equipment. The chamber, originally opened in 2000, has undergone a technical upgrade including a new radiofrequency-absorbing coating. The upgrade enables EMC testing up to 6 GHz in a shielded, interference-free environment for validating electronic products prior to launch.

The renovated infrastructure provides a controlled environment to simulate real-world scenarios and evaluate the electromagnetic behaviour of equipment under operating conditions. This supports regulatory compliance, device reliability, and product safety.

The renovation is part of TECNALIA’s EMC services, which also include Faraday cages for testing according to international standards. The facility supports testing across multiple sectors, including the energy sector, where capabilities such as fast damped oscillatory wave testing have been added.

Wavecontrol and GR EMC SOLUTIONS contributed to EMC installations and testing solutions, while ETS-Lindgren and Seibersdorf Laboratories were involved in designing, implementing, and validating the upgraded facility. The upgraded infrastructure supports testing requirements for electronic equipment manufacturers.
