FORCE Technology Launches Mobile Military-Grade EMC Test Facility for On-Site Defense Testing

FORCE Technology, an independent Danish RTO (Research & Technology Organization) with experience supporting NATO and defense programmes, introduced a mobile military-grade EMC test facility for on-site testing. The addition to FORCE Technology’s EMC Field Solutions portfolio combines deployable flexibility with the company’s military EMC capabilities, including MIL-STD-461, NEMP and lightning testing. Delivered with an EMC specialist team, the facility is designed for situations where time, logistics and operational readiness are important.

Electronic warfare is playing an increasing role on today’s battlefield. Techniques such as jamming can disable equipment or allow adversaries to take control of it.

“To address that challenge and speed up European defence innovation, we have created a mobile, military-grade EMC test facility that can be delivered directly to the customer and begin testing within 48 hours”, explained Lars Hedemann Hilligsøe, Executive Vice President, Compliance & Product Testing at FORCE Technology.

Designed for Large and Security-Restricted Products

According to FORCE Technology, new defence products need to be tested for potential weaknesses in an EMC test facility. Transportation requirements and export license restrictions can present challenges, while larger weapon systems such as tanks, helicopters and combat fighter jets may exceed the size or weight limitations of fixed EMC test facilities.

“When defence systems are large, complex or highly security-restricted, moving them to a traditional test facility can become a logistical challenge – and cause unwanted delays”, continued Lars Hedemann Hilligsøe.

Mobile Testing Capability

FORCE Technology said the mobile facility is designed to be fully mobile with fast deployment and setup, scalable modularity and configurations adjusted to customer requirements.

The mobile facility is intended to reduce the need for long-term infrastructure investment and complex logistics planning while providing EMC testing in secure and confidential environments.
