The RSA306B from Tektronix is a Real Time Spectrum Analyzer that covers a frequency range of 9 kHz to 6.2 GHz. It has an acquisition bandwidth of 40 MHz and delivers a real-time IF acquisition data rate of 112 Ms/s (16-bit integer samples) with a sweep speed of up to 16.5 GHz/sec. This spectrum analyzer has a DANL of less than -163 dBm/Hz and a phase noise of less than -127 dBc/Hz. It has a measurement range from +20 dBm to -160 dBm and has a 3rd order intermodulation distortion of less than -63 dBc. This RTSA has a 2nd harmonic distortion of less than -60 dBc and spurious signals of less than -60 dBc. It has an RF input level of up to +23 dBm and a VSWR of less than 1.8:1.
The RSA306B spectrum analyzer has frequency mask triggers that facilitate the definition of a spectrum mask to capture events or signal anomalies based on their frequency and amplitude. It also has time-qualified triggers that enable capture of events at desired pulse widths, ideal for capturing dynamic test environments. This RTSA has a DPX density trigger that enables analysis and measurement of infrequent or elusive RF events by defining a spectrum measurement box based on how frequently the instrument detects RF power within this box.
The RSA306B can be controlled via a USB 3.0 interface and operates on a 5 V DC supply from the USB connection, consuming less than 900 mA of current. It is available in an enclosure that measures 31.9 x 190.5 x 139.7 mm and has SMA female and Type-N female connectors. This spectrum analyzer is ideal for academics/education, maintenance, installation & repair in the factory or field, value-conscious design & manufacturing, and interference hunting applications.
