The VCS 500N12 from AMETEK CTS is a Surge Generator. It delivers an open-circuit voltage of 500 to 12000 V with a rise time of 1.2 µs and supports a short-circuit current of up to 6,000 A with a rise time of 8 µs. This surge generator complies to IEC and ANSI Cat.B coupling with external coupler of 3 x 480 V. It supports IEEE 488 parallel interface, Opto link optical interface equipped with 3 m cable with USB A connector. It has a repetition time from 6 to 999 seconds and comes with an in-built safety circuit with a control input of 24 VDC.
