The CWG 2500 from Schloder GmbH is a Surge/Combined Wave Test Generator designed to simulate high energy interference pulses for EMC tests as per IEC/EN 61000-4-5, 2014, and VDE 0847-4-5 standards. It consists of a single-phase coupling network for coupling the pulses of the hybrid generator to the supply lines of the devices to be tested. This generator also supports external coupling networks for use in component-level testing. It generates a charging voltage of 0.2 to 4.4 kV for 1.2/50 µs and a surge current of 0.1 to 2.2 kA (short-circuit) for 8/20 µs.
The CWG 2500 generator can be controlled either manually via a capacitive touchscreen display or remotely through a PC using a USB or optional fiber-optic interface. The displayed parameters can be changed quickly by tapping and using a digital rotary encoder. The results of the configuration can then be stored using a memory function supporting recall test level 1-4 or up to 32 memories. This surge generator requires an AC supply of 100 to 240 V and consumes 100 VA of power. It is available in a 19-inch, 3U rack-mount enclosure and has safety & laboratory sockets for equipment under test (EUT) connection.
