The TDEMI® X18 from GAUSS INSTRUMENTS is an EMI Receiver that operates from 9 kHz to 18 GHz. It uses analog-to-digital converters with exceptional ratio of signal-to-noise power density, modern high-speed FPGAs, and in-house designed high-performance microwave circuits to achieve high measurement accuracy and measurement speed. This receiver has a dynamic range of 100 dB and can handle input power levels from 122 to 132 dBµV. It has a spectrum analyzer with an IF bandwidth of 1 Hz to 30 MHz and also supports real-time spectrum analyzer mode with a real-time analysis bandwidth of 645 MHz. This receiver has a preamplifier with a gain of 17 to 21 dB, and an attenuator with an attenuation range from 0 to 75 dB in 5- or 10-dB steps. It has a noise floor of less than –166 dBm/Hz and two 12-bit ADCs with a sampling rate of 2.6 GS/s.
The TDEMI® X18 can perform measurement and detection of peak, average, CISPR-average, quasi-peak, RMS, and CISPR-RMS-AVG. It supports CISPR 16-1-1 compliant Short-term-FFT (STFFT) implementation, which speeds up EMC measurements by a factor up to 32000. This receiver has an 800 x 600-pixel touchscreen display and can be controlled via Ethernet/LAN150, USB 2.0, RS232, PS/2, VGA, HDMI, and GPIB interfaces. It requires an AC supply of 230 V or 110 V and consumes 120 W to 150 W of power. This receiver is available in an enclosure that weighs 20 Kg and is ideal for ISM (industrial, scientific, medical) equipment testing applications according to all civil standards (e.g. CISPR, EN, FCC, or ANSI), military (MIL-461) as well as avionic standards (DO-160).
